We Have A Winner!!!

Post number #60 is our winner. Congratulations Laurie.

That's a beautiful sewing box! Love your new fabric line... those blues are calling my name.

Laurie please e-mail your address to me at alma@blackbird-designs.com. Many thanks to all of you who participated in the contest! Wish you all could have won.

It's so cold and wet here today. We are having a snow, rain and with some kind of sleet event mixed in for fun. (Sounds great doesn't it?) Mother Nature can't decide what to send us. I'm just ready for a bit of warmth like we had on Thursday. It was 80 degrees and sunny. Of course after our heat and drought last summer I should welcome all the moisture that comes our way.

I've been taking clippings of my herbs and putting them in a bit of water. Hoping they take root and I can add them to my garden.

This rosemary is ready to be planted. I'm amazed at how quickly the roots began to grow.

My two sons have another way to welcome spring.

Congratulations cute guys! (I'm sticking with rosemary and leaving the half-marathon to them!)

And guess what? Two of our bee hives are buzzing. The ladies out back are ready for a bit of sunshine, warmth and bloom too!

Until later,
Alma

    1. I didn't know either until this year....but turns out it's not too hard. I have about 8 of them that have grown a great root system. Give it a try. I think you will be really amazed at the results.

  6. Congrats to Laurie!
Barb and Alma, your new blue fabrics are beautiful. I don't own or know how to operate a sewing machine (sigh) but I do love looking at your fabrics and projects.
I do, however, stitch! And your newest collection of cross stitch designs are here in my stash just waiting to be stitched! I love the Honeybee Hill and the reproduction sampler you've released. Great designs, as always.

  10. Yes I would definitely want to delve into Rosemary instead of what your sons decided to partake! They're cute; are they twins? Spring has already sprung here in SE Texas complete with Monarchs and cardinals.

    Congrats to Laurie!!

  11. Congratulations to Laurie, lucky girl :-)
Well done to your boys. My son is doing a half marathon in June and came home to do the Milton Keynes 10k as a practice run last Sunday. The half marathon event in June is called Tough Mudder and he is fund raising for the Down's Association. We're very proud of him.

How amazing that your rosemary has rooted so well in just water. I'm going to go and give my plant a haircut and see if I can strike some cuttings :-)
    Thanks for the lovely giveaway.

  13. Yay Laurie -- congratulations!!! I brought my rosemary in last fall and it is still doing well in a pot on my kitchen counter. Can't wait to start the herbs outside...snow and sleet yesterday and more forecast for tomorrow so I guess I will have to wait a little while. Congrats to your sons on their running!
