At the beach

Friday, April 16, 2010

Barb and I are working at the beach. I have lots of pictures to show...but can't figure out how to load them while using Barb's computer. We finally got this one saved on her desktop. But then of course couldn't remember exactly how we did it. AUGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! This is a sign I should get my laptop up to speed.

We bring linens and dishes to decorate the dining table in the screened-in porch. A couple of estate sale table cloths and my favorite pink floral dishes add to the casual beach decor. Food always tastes better outside. The sound of the surf and the light make dining a pleasure. The breeze is a bit cooler at night....but with a sweater, not too bad.

Look for more on Monday when I get back home. Will have more pictures and information and a contest too!

Until Monday.

Alma

  17. I am looking for a tablecloth (or even a sheet) as pretty and feminine as the one on your table to use for my friends 50th birthday celebration that will be at my house this summer. I've been collecting pink, stoneware and lovely old dishes, inspired by you, for our table setting.

Can't wait to see your other pictures and to meet you in person at the SB retreat this year!

  20. Beautiful! And you gals are sure lucky, but then again I guess, work hard....play hard! I do have a question for you. You set such a beautiful table, might I inquire as to what you guys eat/make while "working at the beach"? Thanks, Carol in Mesa :)

  21. I totally love the girl-y livin' that ya'll have put together and I get that it is also a working week, but do both of ya'll get to play on your own personal stitching and sewing, or is this just a working time, I remember the calendar from last year and how you organize the time and deadlines, but I do hope that there is some "down" time for playing!!! I pulled out my tea cups last year for those yummy brownies that you had last year and have served those on numerous occasions, what's up your sleeves this year, I have to count on ya'll for helping to put some zing into my hostessing!!!hehehe And, since my nest by the tv is filled with Blackbird projects a few more linen purchases wouldn't hurt me at all, love the colors, so keep those ideas flowing!!hehe Did I mention to have fun while you are keeping all of us in stitches....literally!!! tons of hugs...Susan

  22. Wow - I would love to have my office at the beach - but not too warm, so it sounds like it's perfect! But vacationing at the beach may be better - do you get down time? Looking forward to seeing your other pics. Just bought my linen for Margaret Harris and pulling my fibers today! Sherry H.

  23. Have you ever thought of doing a "Best of Blackbird Designs?" The reason I ask is because I'm not able to purchase a lot of your older patterns and this would be a great keepsake book for all of your fans to purchase!
